How to Take Preventive Measures for your Liver?

The liver serves as the power source for your body. It performs a variety of essential tasks like producing protein, cholesterol, and bile to store vitamins, minerals and even carbohydrate. It helps in breaking down of toxins like alcohol, medications and natural byproducts of metabolism. This is the reason that you must keep your liver in good shape which is important for maintaining health.

  • Eat a Healthy Diet: stress on having a diet low in a saturated and no trans fat. Try avoiding eating of fried foods. Start eating low fat or protein choices food like fish, white meat chicken and white meat turkey without skin. Limit red meat food consumption. Regular exercise will increase energy levels, decrease stress on the liver and delays the onset of certain complication associated with liver disease.   • Manage your medications: Every medicine, vitamin, a supplement that you take passes through the liver. Your liver is responsible for processing all these substances.   • Avoid toxins: Toxins can really injure your liver cells. Limit direct contact with toxins from cleaning and aerosol products, insecticides, chemicals, and additives. when you are using aerosols, make sure the room is ventilated, and wear a mask. Avoid smoking.
